Group Expectations and Norms
To ensure this group meets your needs and expectations, please review the following information prior to registering.
Group Expectations
This Group is Right for You If:
You're looking to develop practical skills that can help you navigate life with ADHD, with a focus on improving self-compassion and executive functioning.
You’re open to learning in a structured, coaching-based environment where the emphasis is on applying new strategies and techniques.
You want to connect with others who are also committed to personal growth and are seeking mutual support in a group setting.
You’re comfortable with a focus on growth and skill-building rather than deep emotional processing.
This Group is Not Right for You If:
You need a space primarily for emotional processing or are looking for therapeutic support for significant mental health concerns. This group is coaching-focused, with an emphasis on practical strategies.
You’re seeking a place to work through intense personal challenges or trauma. While the group is supportive and aims to make room for everyone’s experiences, it’s not intended to replace therapy.
You prefer unstructured, open-ended discussions. Our sessions will follow a structured curriculum with specific goals to maximize learning and growth.
You’re looking for one-on-one coaching. This group is designed for collective learning and skill-building within a small group context.
Group Norms
The list of group norms is meant to ensure you understand and agree to what the experience of the group will be like.
Confidentiality: What is shared in the group stays in the group. This is a safe space for all members.
Respect and Inclusivity: We value and respect each participant’s unique experiences and perspectives. Everyone is encouraged to share, but respect for others' time and contributions is key.
Active Participation: Engage with the material, share your insights, and support your fellow group members. Everyone’s voice matters.
Focus on Skill-Building: While personal sharing is welcome, our primary focus will be on learning and applying new strategies to enhance your self-compassion and executive functioning.
Mindful Sharing: Many of us with ADHD are verbal processors, and we understand the need to talk things through aloud. We’ll all be mindful of this as we share, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to contribute while keeping our collective focus on the group’s goals.
